Williams F1 Team Makes a Big Move: Names a New Commercial Boss

by admin

Asencio is going to start a new job as the leader of a team in New York which will take care of their money-making activities starting from 10 April. Before this, Asencio has already worked for five years at UFC – a company where he was in charge of making money – and two years at Fanatics doing something similar. All these changes happened after Dorilton Capital took over in August 2020.

Paul Asencio was a really important figure in the New York Mets Baseball Club. He had been there for 18 years and held a very senior position where he looked after business deals and services. The Williams Racing Manager, Matthew Savage, is thrilled that Paul has now joined the team to help with marketing strategies and other commercial work.

Williams Racing hired a great sports figure, Asencio, to become part of their team. Asencio is thrilled to have been given the chance to join Formula 1 and be a part of its growth. Two other people were just recently welcomed in as well; Frederic Brousseau became the Chief Operating Officer and James Vowles joined from Mercedes as its Team Principal for Formula 1.

The recent changes in the staff at McLaren were related to a very careful review of how they create F1 race cars. Mercedes also believes it still has to do better when making their cars. In 2023, this whole process will be even harder for teams as a certain kind of order will be in place. Logan Sargeant is with Williams Racing and since December last year, Jost Capito left his post as team boss, followed by Francois-Xavier Demaison leaving his job as technical director and David Wheater who was heading aerodynamics also left.

Dave Worner, the design director, is currently in charge of the team until they can find a permanent technical chief. Last month, Vowles said that they are still on the search for a new technical director and aerodynamics head. In the meantime, current team members are taking over some of the duties.

“We need to get some people who have had good experience working in the industry to help us lead,” said Vowles.

After the race at the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday, Williams got moved to the last place in the Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship but they now have an equal amount of points as AlphaTauri.
