“Together with factory staff, composites, and everyone involved, James and I coordinated a meeting to discuss our plan to ready the update for Canada, possibly our only opportunity until we get to the Monza races.
“The team worked tirelessly to prepare, and it was a real triumph to apply it to the car.
“This weekend, we installed a new power unit and invested everything we had. There was certainly pressure to perform, but we delivered, and I couldn’t be happier,” said Albon.

Vowles verified that Montreal was marked as a point-scoring opportunity for the team, resulting in thorough preparation.
“Some of this year’s races, including this one, demanded our utmost effort,” he disclosed to F1 Flow.com.
“Perfect execution was crucial, rather than blindly taking chances. Despite Q2 appearing as a gamble, I believe it was just well-implemented strategy.
“We strived to extract the maximum performance from our car. There are certainly tracks, like Budapest unless it rains, where we will face challenges.
“However, there are tracks where we can excel. Montreal was one of them, hence our all-out effort,” Vowles added.
Due to a general shortage of bodywork components, the team was already at a disadvantage, underlining the extra effort required at the factory to prepare the upgraded package for Albon’s vehicle.

“It required weeks of laborious work that barely made it in time,” Vowles shared. “The organization and team unified to produce what we now have.
“Without the upgrade, we wouldn’t be celebrating the points.
“The shortage [of parts] was especially severe due to Barcelona. It was a test of endurance not just for us, but also for others,” he continued. “It posed a challenge: can we execute this without causing a disruption to the organization? Or will it be a catastrophic failure?
“Committing to the update means no turning back, failure is not an option, it needs to be delivered. And we decided to proceed.
“I am quite satisfied with the decision I made, but I also ensured that I spent time with the team who were asked to sacrifice their weekends, evenings.
“A few of us spent some late nights at the factory. Not literally assembling and bonding – I would be terrible at that! But providing support to the team, recognizing their time and effort. And they delivered.
“They navigated what was necessary to bring these parts to the track. This is a testament to the significance of teamwork. But it also embodies contemporary F1 racing,” Vowles added.
When questioned about the usefulness of the latest parts at upcoming tracks, Vowles responded, “They’ll be beneficial. They enhance downforce, which is universally helpful. Our car is better suited to Montreal.
“I predict Austria will not be too challenging either. However, Silverstone might be a bit tougher, and Budapest will indeed be demanding.”
