Cal Wells III, 68, who has recently been working as a consultant for the company, will step into the role of CEO for the Legacy Motor Club NASCAR team with immediate effect. The announcement was made on Wednesday by Jimmie Johnson and Maury Gallagher, co-owners of the team.

“The appointment of Cal marks the dawn of a new era for Legacy MC,” said Gallagher, presently holding positions as chairman of Allegiant Travel Co. and chair of the 2024 Super Bowl LVIII Committee in Las Vegas. “Cal’s arrival signifies that we have the right team in place. He brings over 40 years of experience in racing, and his expertise in senior management is expected to have an immediate impact.
