Kyle Busch shares his NASCAR retirement “dream” in detail
In an interview on SiriusXM Business Radio’s show, “Cars & Culture with Jason Stein,” Kyle Busch, age 38, openly discussed his aspirations of racing alongside his son in NASCAR. He outlined a meticulously planned vision for his retirement from the sport.

Strategizing for Brexton’s future
When asked by Stein about the duration of his full-time involvement in the Cup series, Busch revealed, “In a perfect world – a scenario I’ve envisioned – I would retire from Cup racing when Brexton reaches 15 years old. Following that, I would embark on a full season of Trucks racing.”
He continued, “Participating in the Truck series would allow me to pursue a Truck series championship, thus making me the first driver to accomplish a championship win in all three of NASCAR’s national series. I currently hold the record for the most wins across these three divisions, surpassing any other driver.”

“So, I would undertake that challenge. Then, when Brexton turns 16, he and I can share responsibilities for the truck. He would handle the shorter track races, while I would take on the bigger track races. We would split this arrangement for two years because the minimum age to race on larger tracks is 18. Once he reaches that age, he would assume full control. I hope he can secure a championship win, and when he does, it will be his time to move forward while I step away.”
Busch emphasized his finality, stating, “That’s it for me. I will be done. That scenario would put me around 49 or 50 years old.”
Stein expressed admiration for Busch’s plan, exclaiming, “That’s an impressive strategy. I like it.”
Busch responded, “Yes, that’s the dream. I am determined to turn that dream into a reality. We are actively working towards it. I still need to solidify my post-racing life plan, though. And if my Cup career is concluding within the next six or seven years, time is definitely running out.”
Finding a new home at RCR
