“Undoubtedly, it didn’t play to our advantage,” Hulkenberg admitted when F1 Flow.com inquired about the impact of the safety car.

“Following this, I believe we were lagging in terms of speed and struggled with tyre wear.
“It wasn’t so pronounced here, but I felt we lacked speed compared to some of our key competitors.”

When questioned if he enjoyed the laps during which he managed to maintain his position ahead of faster cars, Hulkenberg replied, “When you’re constantly under attack and barely maintaining your lead, it isn’t particularly enjoyable, but it’s part of the game.
“It’s hard to accept, especially when you’re in the moment. However, we need to look towards the future and consider a lasting solution to this issue.
“I don’t believe there’s much we can achieve through setup modifications – the problems are more substantial.
“We’re cognizant of the situation and working towards a solution. However, a more future-focused strategy is required to significantly improve our performance.”
Hulkenberg acknowledged his error leading to the grid penalty and expressed no objections to it.
“Of course, it’s unfortunate,” he observed. “But I violated the rules. The penalty is justified. I fully accept it and bear the consequences.
“Regardless, I don’t think it would have altered the race’s outcome, but it’s disappointing that I made that mistake.”
