Horner expressed, “There’s not a single part of me” that desires a tighter competition for the F1 championship.
Red Bull’s triumph in all 12 contests prior to the summer hiatus has bolstered the likelihood of a flawless victory throughout the 2023 season.
In the latest race at the Belgian Grand Prix, Red Bull’s supremacy appeared unassailable, as Max Verstappen crossed the finish line a full 32 seconds ahead of Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari, the closest non-Red Bull competitor.
Although fans and commentators are eagerly anticipating more consistent challenges to Red Bull, team principal Horner is reveling in his team’s peak performance. This follows years of effort to topple Mercedes and recapture the commanding status Red Bull enjoyed during the time of Sebastian Vettel.
In response to a question about whether he wanted more competition following Verstappen’s eighth straight victory at Spa, Horner firmly stated, “There’s not a single part of me that wants that. I feel like I’m still recovering from 2021.
“You see, achievements like [Spa] are the outcome of collaborative effort, and that’s why you all witnessed Greg [Reeson], our tire technician in the garage, accepting the constructors’ trophy today.
“It’s a testament to each team member, each factory department, diligently fulfilling their roles. You don’t stumble upon this level of success accidentally.
“I believe this is a golden era for our team. I tip my hat to all those behind the scenes working tirelessly to attain such excellence.”

Horner further commented, “Entering the summer break without defeat in both Grand Prix and sprints is extraordinary. It surpasses even our wildest dreams to find ourselves in this current standing.”
Horner may remain silent on Red Bull’s prospects of sweeping the remaining ten races and making history as the first F1 team to remain undefeated throughout a season, but Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko acknowledged it’s within reach.
He responded to F1 Flow.com’s question about a total victory by saying, “Logically, no, but we never anticipated winning the initial 12 races either. Now I must concede: why not?”
“We never foresaw [Red Bull’s dominance]. We merely worked on our car, and were frankly astonished that neither Mercedes nor Ferrari progressed. That’s why we are so far in the lead now.
“The rivals in our rearview mirror keep shifting. Sometimes it’s Ferrari, other times McLaren, Aston Martin, or Mercedes trailing us.”

Hats off to Greg Reeson, the tire guy. It’s good to see the behind the scenes guys getting recognition too
Horner’s arrogance is getting too much. Yes, they’re winning but a bit humility wouldn’t hurt.
Wow, Red Bulls killing it this year! Can’t believe they’ve won 12 races in a row. Verstappen’s just unstoppable!
