F1 implemented a new tyre regulation for the weekend, requiring teams to use hard Pirellis in Q1, mediums in Q2, and softs in Q3.

Hungarian GP Q1 Summary:
Valtteri Bottas initially led on the hard tyres for Alfa Romeo with a multi-lap run at 1m18.775s. However, Verstappen and Sergio Perez (Red Bull) and Zhou Guanyu (Alfa) had their turns at the top, with Zhou finally claiming the spot at 1m18.143s.
The last-minute traffic chaos saw drivers seeking a gap, resulting in the elimination of Alex Albon (Williams), Yuki Tsunoda (AlphaTauri), George Russell (Mercedes), Kevin Magnussen (Haas), and Logan Sargeant (Williams).
Hungarian GP Q2 Recap:
Norris held the top spot after Verstappen’s lap was discarded for exceeding track limits at Turn 5. Verstappen returned for his final run but only achieved 1m17.547s, letting Hamilton take the second position.
Those who didn’t make it to the next round included Carlos Sainz of Ferrari, Esteban Ocon of Alpine, Daniel Ricciardo of AlphaTauri, Lance Stroll of Aston Martin, and Pierre Gasly of Alpine.
Hungarian GP Q3 Run-down:
In the first round, Verstappen led with 1m16.612s, a tenth ahead of Hamilton. In the final round, Hamilton trumped Verstappen by 0.003s with 1m16.609s, securing his record ninth pole in Budapest.
Verstappen, Norris, Oscar Piastri (McLaren), Zhou, Leclerc, Bottas, Alonso, Perez, and Nico Hulkenberg (Haas) make up the rest of the top 10.
