Brad Pitt Revels in “The Best Time of My Life” While Filming F1-Based Movie

by admin

During the filming of his latest movie over the British Grand Prix weekend, Brad Pitt disclosed that he was “a tad ecstatic,” particularly while driving the F2-based car used for the production amidst real sessions.

The renowned Hollywood actor offered an in-depth peek into the film and its storyline during an interview hosted in the movie’s Silverhouse garage by Martin Brundle for Sky Sports F1.

“I must admit I’m quite ecstatic right now,” Pitt shared with Brundle. “It’s just fabulous being here. We’re having a ball. Honestly, it’s the pinnacle of my life.

“Everything has been wonderful so far. The energy is electrifying. It’s phenomenal to be a part of this in such a manner, to narrate our story, and everyone’s been very accommodating.

“Every team has welcomed us with open arms, along with the FIA. Mohammad [Ben Sulayem] has been exceptionally helpful, as well as F1 Stefano [Domenicali]. Everyone’s been truly supportive in letting us do this. And I assure you, it’s going to be really good.”

Pitt unveiled the storyline, where he portrays a once-retired driver making a comeback to the current grid.

“I play a character who used to race back in the nineties,” he explained. “There’s a chance I would’ve raced with you at some point!

“After a devastating crash, he falls out of favor, vanishes, and begins racing in other categories. His friend, played by Javier Bardem, owns a team.

“They are always at the bottom, never scoring a point. However, they have a young prodigy, played by Damson Idris. They bring me in as a desperate attempt to salvage the situation, leading to some exciting events.

“The unique part is the cameras mounted all over the car. You will witness the speed and the G forces like never before. It’s incredibly thrilling.”

Pitt confessed he had no prior car racing experience before his training, although he has experience riding motorcycles: “Primarily bikes. I’ve spent the last two decades riding bikes on tracks, which has been very beneficial.

“It’s genuinely humbling. My ‘hot lap’ might be better described as a ‘warm lap.’ I’ve had a few unintentional detours through the grass, but it’s all been quite exhilarating.”

Asked by Brundle if he had experienced any significant crashes, Pitt humorously admitted: “Only to my ego!”

Pitt was unfazed by the idea of driving around Silverstone in front of a packed crowd.

“I wasn’t nervous at all,” he declared. “The team prepared me well. There are a few corners where I can see the stands.

“On the straight stretches, I get a chance to look around a bit, but I’m mainly focused on the racing lines and the atmosphere we’re trying to create.

“For all the self-proclaimed experts, cut us some slack. If you spot any spinouts or stalls, they are intentional, okay?”

Pitt emphasized his commitment to realism in the film.

“We’re working with Trevor Carlin’s team,” he stated. “They’ve been incredible, ensuring our safety, training us, and running the show just like the real thing. We want to make it as authentic as possible.

“Also, our producer, Lewis [Hamilton], is adamant that we should respect the sport and portray it in its true form.”

Pitt ended the conversation by appreciating Brundle and all racing drivers.

“As an outsider, I didn’t realize the amount of dedication and skill it takes to be a driver,” he concluded.

“These athletes are truly remarkable. I’ve gained a huge amount of respect for all the competitors across the board.

“I’ll stick around until they send me packing. I’m relishing every moment. I believe it’s every man’s dream.

“My character would’ve participated in races like Le Mans and Daytona. I know you’ve won both. That’s outstanding.

“Once again, I hold deep respect for what you guys do. I’ve been a fan of your work for years. So, thank you! It’s an absolute pleasure to be here.”
